Serving the New River Valley

The New River Valley Chapter #2613 of AARP, Inc. strives to serve seniors from all communities of the region including counties of Giles, Floyd, Montgomery Pulaski and City of Radford. The original chapter of AARP Blacksburg was founded in 1976 and evolved in 2025 to its current mission:

The New River Valley Chapter #2613 of AARP, Inc. is a non-partisan, non-profit, organization of the New River Valley. The Chapter promotes quality of life through education, service, and information that empowers individuals to live successfully as they age. The chapter promotes volunteerism and creates opportunities for participation in meaningful activities within the chapter and in the New River Valley communities.

The chapter is governed by officers, Board members , and committees representing the general membership, partner organizations, and geographical regions. The Board meets each month except July and August on the third Tuesday followed by a general member meeting featuring an educational presentation.
